Why choose electric underfloor heating?
Electric underfloor heating systems are one of only two systems recognised by the Government's Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) as having the necessary parameters to qualify for inclusion into the SAP calculation - the other being storage heater systems with radiant panels built in, which are controlled as a single unit.

Instead of heating air, radiant heating systems warm people and objects readily and efficiently by emitting heat energy (like that from the sun) in the thermal infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum at wavelengths of about 5 microns (µm). There’s nothing quite like radiant floor or ceiling heating. It is the most efficient means of heat delivery in existence and it provides greater comfort than any other heating system. Radiant floor heating is a low temperature system which emits heat energy to provide comfort heating without parallel. The heating system directly heats objects and surfaces within a room and establishes a mean radiant temperature (MRT) that reduces the general physiological effects of heat transfer from the human body. Radiant floor heating delivers personal comfort by controlling the radiation heat loss from the body. If the surrounding surfaces (warmed by radiant heat) are roughly the same temperature as our body surface, we feel comfortable with a good sense of well being. Radiant ceiling heating works just as well as radiant floor heating even though we ‘know’ that heat rises. A common misconception, even among heating professionals, is that heat rises. In fact, hot air rises and cold air falls due to differences in their density. Therefore, heat will always travel from a hot surface to a colder one. Radiant ceiling heating will provide an invisible, effective and efficient form of radiant heating, just like radiant floor heating systems, and the top of your head won’t feel any warmer than normal. Operating at low temperatures radiant heated ceilings ensures even and comfortable warmth with minimal air temperature difference between floor and ceiling from a hidden source.
